IndianOil Finance Director S.V. Narasimhan bags Excellence in Finance Award
 India’s largest commercial organization, IndianOil’s Director(Finance) Mr. S. V. Narasimhan was presented the coveted "2008 IMA Excellence in Finance Award" amongst PSUs, at a glittering function in Mumbai last night. Dr. (Mrs.) Indu Shahani, Sheriff of Mumbai, presented the award to Mr. Narasimhan, for his stellar contribution in steering the financial fortunes of the flagship corporate of the country – IndianOil.
The award presented to Mr.Narasimhan is a testimony to the formidable reputation that he has earned as a professional in the Finance function for over 3 decades and the global standards that IndianOil follows in Corporate Finance practices.
Amongst other awards presented at the event includes the “CFO of the Year” award, which went to Mr.Ravi Nedungadi of UB Group and the “Deal of the Year” award that was conferred to Mr. Koushik Chatterjee, Vice-President Finance, Tata Steel for his role in the acquisition of Corus.
The various awards were judged by an eminent jury comprising of CEOS, CFOs, Academics and previous winners. The jury members for this year’s award were Mr. Arun Duggal, Vice Chairman, International Asset Reconstruction Company, Mr. Praveen Kadle, Managing Director, Tata Capital, Ms. Chanda Kochhar, Joint Managing Director and CFO, ICICI Bank, Mr. Jayanth R. Varma, Professor of Finance & Accounts, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, Mr. N. Kumar, Vice Chairman, The Sanmar Group, Mr. P. K. Choudhury, Managing Director, ICRA, Mr. Pronab Sen, Principle Advisor, Planning Commission, Mr. Pradip Shah, Chairman, IndAsia Fund Advisors and Mr. S. Mahalingam, Chief Financial Officer, Tata Consultancy Services.
The IMA CFO awards have, over the last 6 years, acquired a premier status and receive overwhelming response from the CFO community each year. The awards also symbolize recognition for unique and outstanding performance in the financial world that is achieved by visionary CFOs navigating the growth path of corporate India.
