‘CIO-100’ award for IndianOil for the third time
IndianOil has been awarded the prestigious 'CIO-100' award, consecutively for the third time, by International Data Group (IDG)- the international CIO magazine-at a glittering ceremony held at Jaipur on September 6, 2008.
The process for selecting awardees for CIO 100 is systematic and very competitive. Every year, the 'CIO-100' honours hundred companies that demonstrates excellence and achievement in Information Technology (IT) to deliver competitive advantage to the enterprise and enables growth.
The theme for this year's award 'Bold 100' was aimed at honouring organisations for successful, innovative, risk-taking, information technology initiatives. An eminent jury evaluated the nominations comprehensively. IndianOil's project in this category was based on a unique business continuity design, which had two stages: a) disaster recovery and b) 100 per cent up time. The jury appreciated that the disaster recovery design not only contributed to 100 per cent business continuity, but also that the high-end infrastructure and resources were optimised and used for the purpose of reporting and quality assurance requirements. The jury was impressed by the fact that all innovations were carried out by the corporation's in-house team thus reducing a substantial load on the production system and also ensuring at the same time a high-level of business continuity with daily mock drills.
