| Lanka IndianOil bags Business Today Top 10 Award for 2007-08

Lanka IndianOil has been ranked seventh in the ‘Business Today Top 10’, an annual survey by a premier business magazine Business Today of Sri Lanka. Mr. K. R. Suresh Kumar, Managing Director of Lanka IndianOil, received the award from Hon. Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Defence Secretary, Government of Sri Lanka during a function in Colombo on August 18, 2009.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Kumar elaborated the efforts of Lanka IndianOil in bringing world-class experience and ambience to the petrol sheds in Sri Lanka. Further, he acknowledged the support of the Government of Sri Lanka in building the energy infrastructure, which ensured the development of the company.
Business Today regularly conducts survey of top corporate performance and recognises them by way of giving awards. The annual survey is based on the published financial information of companies listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange. Established financial criteria used in the selection includes sales turnover, growth in sales turnover, profits, growth in profits, return on equity, earnings per share, market capitalization, value of shares transacted and value addition.
Earlier, Lanka IndianOil was rated as No.1 by LMD, another business magazine of Sri Lanka. Lanka IndianOil presently has 102 company owned petrol sheds and 48 franchisee sheds. It has forayed into lubricants markets by establishing the most modern lube blending plant at Trincomalee and emerged as a strong player in Lubricants market. Also, Lanka IndianOil has captured more than 40% of the Bunker Fuels Trade in Sri Lanka.
