IndianOil was awarded the ‘Chairman Award for Global Impact by an Indian PSU’ by the premier publication - Bhaskar group. The award, comprising of a trophy and a certificate was presented to Mr. B. M. Bansal, Director (Planning & Business Development) by Mr. P. Chidambaram, Union Minister for Home Affairs, Government of India, at a glittering function held at New Delhi on October 9, 2009. Mr. V. C. Agrawal, Director, Human Resources, was also present.
IndianOil has been chosen for this award category to recognise the Corporation’s expanding business frontiers nationally and internationally and to complement its continuing statement of excellence. The award is a befitting acknowledgement of the Corporation’s ever-improving performance, its spectacular achievements as the industry leader and its commitment to the welfare of the nation and its people.
Dainik Bhaskar - the flagship Hindi daily from Bhaskar Group, along with the English Daily of the group DNA have instituted this year the ‘India Pride Awards’ to recognise excellence among public sector units(PSUs) and to felicitate their efforts towards nation building across sectors. The awards have been instituted to commemorate the Corporation’s achievement of 50 years milestone.
The award citation read, “A fifty-year young corporate, IndianOil is India-Inspired, continuing to excel and expand its prominence on the international stage. With a corporate vision of being the ‘Energy of India’ and aspiring to be ‘a globally admired company,’ with Ethics, Customers, People, Technology, Innovation and Environment, as its cornerstones, IndianOil is India’s flagship national oil company. Celebrating 2009 as the Golden Jubilee year, IndianOil has grown as the country’s largest commercial enterprise during the past five decades. It has transformed into a major, diversified, transnational integrated energy company and the Corporation is vigorously pursuing a string of strategic initiatives across the hydrocarbon value chain for upstream integration into exploration and production of oil, downstream integration into petrochemicals and diversification into natural gas marketing and alternative fuels, besides globalisation of downstream operations.
The award specially emphasises on IndianOil’s achievements in expanding the business horizons beyond the shores of India and bringing forth infrastructure and intellectual capital to the world.
