Chairman conferred IIT Delhi Alumni Award

In a befitting recognition of his sterling role in building India's flagship oil & gas corporate, Mr. B M Bansal, Chairman, IndianOil, was presented the prestigious "Outstanding Contribution Award for National Development" by IIT Delhi. The award was presented to Mr. Bansal by Dr. Surendra Prasad, Director, IIT-Delhi, in a graceful ceremony held in the capital on 24th April 2010.
Instituted by the IIT Delhi Alumni Association in the year 1999, the Outstanding Contribution Award for National Development is given away annually to illustrious IIT-Delhi alumni to recognise their exceptionally outstanding contribution to national development and to enhance the awareness of achievement and contributions of IIT Delhi alumni in various aspects of national development. In a rigorous competition, Mr. Bansal’s nomination was selected by an eminent jury to recognise his contribution in a career spanning several decades.
An alumnus of 1972 batch, Mr. Bansal said, "I am deeply honoured to receive this prestigious award. What makes this award extremely special and close to my heart is that it comes from my alma mater....It goes entirely to the credit of the rigorous system of education and discipline at IIT-Delhi that makes the alumni confident of facing the challenges in the world since we are groomed by the best in the business," he added.
