IndianOil gets a top slot in ET 500 listing
 IndianOil, India's flagship oil company with net sales worth Rs 1,87,224 crores has maintained its enviable top position by net sales in the ET500 listing released by Economic Times recently. The oil&gas sector accounts for six of the top ten companies by sales, while steel, banking, automobile and power generation sectors have managed to secure one position each.
Apart from sales, the ET500 ranking lists companies based on market capitalization, net profit, price-earnings ratio and return on net worth, etc. IndianOil continues to be among the five largest Indian companies by net profit. Barring IndianOil, other companies among the top five profit-earners saw muted profit growth. The largest domestic companies by sales, m-cap&profit are from the oil industry.
