- The 7th International Petroleum Conference at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, was inaugurated by Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, Hon'ble Minister of External Affairs, Government of India, on 16th January, 2007.
- Mr. Murli Deora, Hon'ble Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India, inaugurated the PETROTECH Exhibition.
- "Unfolding Horizons: Hydrocarbon Vision of India" - a book published by PETROTECH Society, was released during Exhibition Inauguration.
- Mr. Dinsha J Patel, Hon'ble Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India, inaugurated the Photo Exhibition.
- Pre-Conference on Carbon Credits was inaugurated by Dr. Pradipto Ghosh, Secretary, Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India.

- Session on "Coal Gassification" - inaugurated by Mr. P R Mandal, Advisor (Projects), Ministry of Coal, Government of India.

- PETROTECH-2007 Golf - Tee Off by Mr. B K Chaturvedi, the then Cabinet Secretary, Government of India.

- Mr. Bhishm Kumar Bakhshi, former Chairman, IndianOil, for his outstanding contribution to downstream hydrocarbon industry
- Mr. Mani Shankar Aiyar, Hon'ble Minister of Panchayati Raj, Government of India, delivered the valedictory address
- PETROTECH-2007 Conference was a great success with more than 1,000 technical papers received, of which 719 papers were presented in 32 technical sessions.
- The PETROTECH-2007 exhibition was the biggest in terms of the number of exhibitors - 140, including 40 overseas organisation from 17 countries
