Hon’ble Vice President of India presents prestigious SCOPE Awards

Amidst an esteemed gathering of around 1000+ special invitees from leading PSUs of the country, Mr Sujoy Choudhury, Director (P&BD), Addl. Charge of Director (HR), received the SCOPE Eminence Award 2019-20 for ‘Institutional Excellence’ (Maharatna & Navratna PSEs); SCOPE Eminence Award 2019-20 for ‘Women Empowerment’ and SCOPE Meritorious Award 2016-17 for ‘Environmental Excellence & Sustainable Development’ on behalf of Mr S M Vaidya, Chairman, IndianOil.
The top honours are indeed a recognition of the exemplary performance and incessant contribution of IndianOil as India’s flagship ‘Maharatna’ national oil company, shouldering the responsibility of maintaining energy supplies at every nook & corner of the nation. An endeavour of SCOPE to accentuate the initiatives and contribution of PSEs as nation-builders, the 2016-17 and 2019-20 SCOPE award ceremony held today had been delayed due to unavoidable factors coinciding with the COVID pandemic.
Recognising the significant achievements of the corporation across the entire hydrocarbon value chain leading to business excellence, the SCOPE Eminence Award 2019-20 for ‘Institutional Excellence’ celebrates the bold and innovative strategies of the corporation for building the nation’s energy resilience. The ambitious introduction of BS-VI fuels, alternate energy solutions that enriched the energy needs of India’s hinterland while ensuring the availability of fuels as a responsible leading energy major of the country led to the stellar performance of IndianOil during the year 2019-20, a key parameter for adjudging the winner of this award.
Likewise, the HR policy framework aimed towards providing a safe, inclusive, diverse, supportive, and highly engaging workplace within IndianOil was the differentiating factor for the corporation winning the SCOPE Eminence Award 2019-20 for ‘Women Empowerment’.
Committed to rendering topmost priority to carry out business operations with a strong environment conscience, ensuring sustainable development, safe workplaces, and enrichment of the quality of life of all its stakeholders, led the corporation to win the SCOPE Meritorious Award 2016-17 for Environmental Excellence & Sustainable Development.
Recognising the collective spirit of excellence fostered by IndianOil, the prestigious honours highlight the significant achievements of the corporation that have been instrumental in its resounding growth and success from the past six decades.

Sheetal Devi (Para-Archery), Aditi Gopichand Swamy (Archery) and Krishan Bahadur Singh (Hockey) received the Arjuna Award for their outstanding performance in sports and games, good performance over the previous four years and showing qualities of leadership, sportsmanship & sense of discipline. While the stellar Manjusha Kanwar, DGM (Sports Coordination), Corporate Office and a stalwart in Badminton, was bestowed with the revered Dhyan Chand Lifetime Achievement Award.
Other awardees, including the dynamic Indian shuttle duo, Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy (winners of the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award) and Esha Singh (Shooting), winner of the Arjuna Award, could not attend the ceremony due to prior sporting commitments.
The awards ceremony not only recognised individual brilliance but also celebrated the collective spirit of excellence fostered by IndianOil. “IndianOil has always been at the forefront of encouraging and nurturing sports talent. Hon’ble President of India bestows prestigious NECA Awards on IndianOil’s Guwahati & Haldia Refineries; Chairman and Director (Refineries) receive the honour!

In a prestigious ceremony held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, the Hon'ble President of India, Ms Droupadi Murmu, bestowed the National Energy Conservation Awards (NECA), 2023, highlighting the remarkable contributions of organisations in the field of energy efficiency. Among the distinguished awardees, IndianOil's Guwahati Refinery clinched the coveted First Prize in the Petroleum Refining Sector, while Haldia Refinery received the Certificate of Merit.

It may be mentioned that the Ministry of Power, Government of India, recognises the exemplary efforts on Energy Conservation in the country made by organisations every year, including special efforts to achieve the goal of Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), by felicitating them with National Awards. Organised by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), under Ministry of Power, NECA awards are held annually on December 14. The event serves as a celebration of outstanding efforts in energy conservation across various sectors of the Indian economy. Initiated on December 14, 1991, the day is observed as ‘National Energy Conservation Day’ nationwide to spread the message on the importance of conserving energy and to showcase the achievements of the Nation in energy efficiency and conservation.
Later, Chairman congratulated Mr Gautam Kumar Goyari, CGM & RH, Guwahati Refinery, and Mr Atanu Sanyal, CGM & RH, Haldia Refinery for this incredible feat at IndianOil's Corporate Office, New Delhi.

The coveted awards were presented amidst glittering awards ceremony held during the International Public Relations Festival organised by PRSI from November 25-27, 2023 in New Delhi. IndianOil’s Corporate Communications teams from varied locations across the country had gathered to receive the honours in various categories.

Besides the above categories, PRSI Leadership Award, presented for contribution to the profession and the organisation, as the former Secretary General of PRSI, was conferred on Ms Sumita Singh, DGM (Corp Comm), Corporate Office for immense contributions in the field. While the Public Relations Research Honour was presented to Dr Ciny Mathew Philip, Chief Manager (Corp Comm & CSR), Gujarat Refinery for obtaining a PhD in the larger domain of Public Relations focusing on social media communications and CSR Branding recently.

IndianOil conferred with ‘Issuer of the Year - Commercial Paper’ award at 6th National Summit & Awards - Corporate Bond Market 2023

IndianOil has been adjudged as ‘Winner’ under the category of ‘Issuer of The Year - Commercial Paper’ at the 6th National Summit & Awards - Corporate Bond Market 2023 organised by Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) on August 3, 2023.

Mr Ruchir Agrawal, CGM (CF & T), received the award on behalf of IndianOil in the glittering ceremony held in Mumbai. Mr Agrawal expressed his gratitude for recognising the efforts of IndianOil in issuance of Commercial papers for more than Rs 2 lakh crore in the last two financial years (FY 2021-22 & 2022-23). He also shared that a lot more needs to be done in the Corporate Bond space to support the target of a $ 5 Trillion economy and ESG Goals of the country. He further added that IndianOil, propelled by the core value of ‘Nation First’, is fully geared to contribute its bit for the same.
The eminent jury for the selection of winners included Former Member of SEBI, Former MD of LIC and MD of NSDL, among others. Held under the theme ‘Innovation, Simplicity & Global Access’, the summit witnessed the participation of leading financial authorities from regulatory bodies, banks, corporates, consultants & analysts, economists and academicians, among others.
Commercial Paper (CP) is an unsecured money market instrument issued in the form of a Promissory Note for raising funds from Money Markets for a tenor of 7 days to 365 days. CPs are listed instruments and are governed by regulations from SEBI, RBI & Exchanges. As CPs are unsecured instruments, highly rated entities can borrow through this instrument at an optimum cost. CPs are usually subscribed by institutional investors like Mutual Funds, Insurance Companies etc., and CP can be issued for a minimum denomination of Rs 5 Lakhs and in multiples thereof.

MoS for New & Renewable Energy bestows honour on IndianOil Refineries; Chairman hands-over prestigious awards to Director (Refineries)

Mr Bhagwanth Khuba, Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, recently presented two awards to IndianOil Refineries under the category of Sustainability-Best Green Product and Sustainability; Excellence in Safety. The awards were received by Mr S P Singh, ED (HSE), on behalf of Director (Refineries), at the 3rd edition of the summit on Global Chemicals & Petrochemicals Manufacturing Hubs in India, organised by FICCI, at Hotel Le Meridien, New Delhi.

Mr S M Vaidya, Chairman, IndianOil, handed over the two prestigious awards to Ms Sukla Mistry, Director (Refineries), which were bagged by IndianOil’s Refineries Division in the presence of Executive Directors & Functional Heads of Refineries Division.
The jury of industry experts adjudged India’s first 2G & 3G Ethanol Plants commissioned at Panipat Refinery as the best projects under the banner of Best Green Product & Sustainability honour. While the safe and successful execution of the LAB (Linear Alkyl Benzene) mega revamp shut-down, spanning over 110 days, for capacity augmentation from 120 KTPA to 162 KTPA, with the amalgamation of innovative & unique techniques in unit shut-down and start-up, prioritising the safety of man and machine during and after the shut-down at Gujarat Refinery was adjudged as the winner under Sustainability; Excellence in Safety.
Mr Vaidya congratulated Ms Mistry and the entire Refineries team on this proud achievement.

IndianOil conferred with GeM Award for the ‘Highest Single Bid Procurements for FY 2022-23’

Mr S M Vaidya, Chairman, IndianOil and Mr D S Nanaware, Director (Pipelines), were conferred with the prestigious Government-e-Marketplace (GeM) Award in the category ‘Highest Single Bid Procurements in the financial year 2022-23’ on June 26, 2023.

The award was presented by Mr Piyush Goyal, Minister of Textiles Commerce & Industries, Consumer Affairs and Food & Public Distribution, Government of India, in a glittering award ceremony held at Vanizya Bhawan, New Delhi.
This award recognises the highest ever order value of Rs 3,632.44 Crore placed on the GeM portal by IndianOil Pipelines Division for the supply of Line Pipes (36” OD) for the New Mundra-Panipat Pipeline project to meet the enhanced crude oil requirement of Panipat Refinery after its capacity expansion to 25 MMTPA. The work was awarded to five parties on April 30, 2022, in a lead time of 82 days, and the material delivery got completed successfully in all five awarded GeM contracts.
Procurement through the GeM offers several benefits when compared to traditional e-tendering processes, which include tendering and award of work through smooth, efficient and transparent process; ensuring compliance of statutory requirements & policies through in-built system interlocks; user-friendly dashboard for monitoring supplies & payment with support for quick resolution of issues; integrated payment system; rich listing of products for the individual category of goods/services; easy to comprehend interface to search, compare, select and buy; price trends and price comparison from multiple suppliers to take decisions.

During the ET DataCon Summit 2023, Mr Manish Grover, ED (SIS & IS), Refineries Headquarters (RHQ), accepted the award and trophy on behalf of IndianOil. On this occasion, Mr Grover said, “This recognition as a ‘High Maturity Data Enterprise’ at the ET DataCon Awards 2023 is a tremendous achievement for IndianOil. It validates our relentless pursuit of excellence in digital transformation and showcases our ability to harness the power of data. IndianOil’s achievement stems from its ground-breaking data management platform and the impactful implementation of analytics and robotic process automation through the flagship i-DRIVE project, which served as the basis for the nomination. A distinguished panel of experienced technology professionals served as the jury to evaluate the awards submissions. Now in its fourth year, the ET DataCon Awards 2023 aims to acknowledge pioneering initiatives undertaken by Indian enterprises in their journey towards becoming data-centric organizations. On another occasion, Mr Sharath Kamal (Table Tennis), DGM (Sports), SRO, received the highest Sporting National Award, ‘Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award 2022’ from Ms Droupadi Murmu, Hon’ble President of India, on November 30, 2022, at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. The award is presented to a selected sportsperson for spectacular and most outstanding performance in the field of sports by a sportsperson over the period of the previous four years.

History was made yet again when Octamax technology developed by IndianOil R&D swept the country’s top technology award. The much-coveted award was presented by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State for Science and Technology (I/c), to IndianOil R&D team led by Dr. SSV Ramakumar, Director (R&D).

Dr. Madhusudan Sau, ED (Refining Technology), in a glittering event that saw the presence of India’s top technocrats and luminaries from the domain of science & technology from across the country. Dr. Srivari Chandrsekhar, Chairperson, TDB & Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, was also present. IndianOil was declared winner of the coveted National Award-2022 under the category “Successful Commercialization of Indigenous Technology” for commercialization of Octamax® Technology. The recognition carries a cash award of Rs. 25 Lakhs and a trophy. IndianOil was adjudged first in the Category A of the National Awards alongside a medical devices company that also won this prestigious award for fluting stents.

IndianOil wins ‘Best PSU for the Promotion of Sports Award’ at Sportstar Aces 2022

IndianOil's sports policy was formulated and implemented in the year 2003, which included recruitment, performance evaluation, promotion, redesignation, facilities for sportspersons, kit items policy, and code of conduct. From humble beginnings, IndianOil now has a sanction of having 115 sports players on its payroll.

In November last year, the Corporation was bestowed with the 'Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Purskar', by President of India, Mr Ram Nath Kovind, acknowledging the indelible imprints that the Corporation has left on the country's sporting circuit.

IndianOil bags the prestigious Asian Oil and Gas Award for Covid Management and New Product of the Year

Adding another feather to its cap, IndianOil bagged the prestigious Asian Power's Asian Oil & Gas Awards in two major categories of 'Covid Management Initiative of the Year' and 'New Product of the Year' in India.

Singapore-based quarterly publication, Asian Power has instituted the award to acknowledge companies that play an influential role in transforming Asia's oil and gas industry. The coveted award under the 'Covid Management Initiative of the Year' recognises IndianOil's unrelenting social endeavours amidst the pandemic. The social outreaches included the diversion of high-purity oxygen used in IndianOil's Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex to shore up medical oxygen supplies not only in India but beyond. Other welfare measures of IndianOil, including the rollout of Sanjeevani Express to strengthen LMO logistics and vaccination drives for stakeholders, were also appreciated. Asian Oil and Gas Award for 'New Product of the Year' was bestowed on IndianOil for launching India's first 100 Octane and best-in-class premium fuel XP100.

IndianOil undertook 45719 Swachhta activities across India under 25 activity categories during the Swachhta Pakhwada (July 1-15, 2021), wherein 12.66 Lakh persons participated.

Maintaining fuel/LPG supplies across the nation & augmenting Oxygen supplies during the Pandemic.
