Banned polished dal found in IOCL ration stores
Guwahati   26-Dec-2010

Allegations have been levelled against the ration stores of IOCL (AOD) of Digboi Oil for selling banned polished dal to the employees of the corporation.

The ration stores have a history of selling quality edible items, but the recent development and the attitude of the authorities concerned have left the employees with eyebrows raised.

The matter was discovered by IOCL (AOD) Labour Union Vice-president Aftab Hussain while he had gone to buy ration from the stores.

He told this correspondent that Digboi IOCL (AOD) Chief Employees relation manager Haseem Ahmed has been showing an indifferent attitude towards the matter and had also asked the Vice-president to stay out of it.

A written complaint was also lodged to the Tinsukia Deputy Commissioner seeking his interference in the matter so as to prevent such acts for the interest of the IOC (AOD) employees.

On enquiry, the district administration informed the members of the Greater Digboi Press Club that polished dal has been banned and prohibited for consumption and selling the same is punishable.
