New quality control unit inaugurated at Digboi refinery

S Sundareshan, IAS, Sceretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, inaugurated the MS Quality Upgradataion Unit at Digboi Refinery recently. Also present at the function were CMD of Oil India Ltd, N M Borah, Director (Refineries) IndianOil, B N Bankapur, Director (Finance), Oil India Ltd, T K Ananth kumar and other dignitaries.

During his two-day visit to Digboi, which is the first ever visit to Digboi by Secretary of the MOP & NG, Sundareshan visited the Wax Moulding Unit Digboi Refinery and planted a sapling at the reclaimed tar pit area inside the refinery.

Giving an overview of the petroleum and refining sector in the country, Sundareshan congratulated the IndianOil People for their hard work and dedication in keeping the oldest refinery in the country running smoothly, overcoming all logistical and physical hurdles. He also congratulated Indian Oil for successfully commissioning the MSQ improvement units in all its refineries and reiterated the Ministry's support in all endeavours of the Corporation.

Sundareshan was also given an overview of the Digboi Refinery operations and marketing activities in the Northeast under the North East Integrated State Office.  He laid emphasis on the need to increase market penetration of LPG in the North-eastern States.

He visited the AOD Hospital, which is one of the leading health care providers in the interior regions of this part of the country and appreciated the work of the doctors and the paramedical staff of the hospital.
