The Rajasthan High Court on Wednesday directed that the manager (operations) of the IndianOil, Ashok Kumar, be released on bail if he furnishes two surities of Rs 1 lakh each.

He was arrested along with other officials on the basis of an FIR filed in the IOC inferno case. He was the only one left who was still in judicial custody while eight others were already granted bail.

It was argued on behalf of Kumar that the fire was an accident and the matter is still under investigation and his role in any conspiracy as also his involvement in criminal negligance has not yet been established.
