Shimla   18-Mar-2011

IndianOil (IOC) will set up LPG dispensing stations in Himachal Pradesh by July this year, a minister said Friday. These will sell automotive fuel under brand name AutoGas.

"The IOC is currently conducting a survey and by July-August the LPG dispensing stations would be set up in the state," Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Ramesh Dhawala said in the state assembly.

He said the LPG facility would be provided on the existing petrol pumps only. "The LPG facility will be provided at those petrol pumps that are located on the national highways," he added.

The use of LPG as an automotive fuel became legal in the country April 24, 2000. It's a clean, high octane, abundant and eco-friendly fuel.
