President gives SCOPE awards

RS Butola, Chairman, IndianOil and Sudhir Bhalla, Director (HR) with the SCOPE Meritorious Award 2009-10 for Best Practices in Human Resource Management

President Pratibha Devisingh Patil recently awarded SCOPE Meritorious Awards for 2009-10 to IOC, BHEL and NMDC, among others, for specialising in various fields.

The Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) Award for environmental excellence was received by SAIL Chairman CS Verma.

Petroleum major IndianOil (IOC) received gold trophy for being the best among the human resource management category. The country’s second largest state-owned Punjab National Bank was merited for Best Managed Bank and Financial Institution, whereas in the sector of R&D and technology BHEL was declared a winner.

Felicitation trophies were presented to the chief executives of IOC, NTPC, ONGC and SAIL.

While NMDC has won a commendation certificate of SCOPE meritorious award for corporate social responsibility and responsiveness for 2009-10.

GB Joshi, Director (Personnel), received the certificate on behalf of NMDC.
