Global energy meet: GAIL, IndianOil chiefs to lead Indian charge

A galaxy of oilmen from state owned entities would bat to secure for India a crease at the global energy arena during the International Petroleum Week, Europe's top jamboree for the hydrocarbons industry starting February 18 in London. Lending them a helping hand will be the regulators for exploration as well as refining-marketing and gas sectors, respectively, and a few private sector honchos. The assemblage of the top executives from state-dominated oil sector is because the UK's Energy Institute, which holds the conclave, has put the spotlight on India. IndianOil Chairman Sarthak Behuria and his predecessor M S Ramachandran will lead the charge of the Indian brigade on February 20 - the India Day They will be joined by GAIL chairman U D Choubey, Hindustan Petroleum chief Arun Baalakrishnan, Engineers India's Mukesh Rohtagi and Petronet CEO Prasad Dasgupta. Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board chairman Lalatendu Mansigh and director-general of hydrocarbons V K Sibal will outline the emerging regulatory scenario. V Sundareshan, additional secretary in the oil ministry, will lead the team.
