IndianOil, Maruti Ink deal for lubricants

Public sector firm IndianOil has signed an agreement with the country's leading car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki India for marketing its lubricants under the letter's genuine parts trademark. In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, the Minister of State in Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry, Mr Dinsha Patel, said the agreement is for marketing Maruti Genuine Oil which allows IndianOil to use Maruti's trademark 'Maruti Genuine Part1. The lubricant would be sold through authorised service stations of Maruti and other marketing channels of IndianOil like Retail Outlets, Bazaar counters etc. "With this agreement, IndianOil will be able to generate sales revenue of approximately Rs 50 crore per year," Mr Patel said, adding the agreement is valid till March 2009.
