IndianOil thrashes ONGC 'B' 7-2 in PSPB hockey opener

A hat-trick by Sardara Singh saw IndianOil sail pass ONGC 'B' 7-2 in the opening match of the 26th PSPB Hockey tournament played here at the BHA stadium on Tuesday. IndianOil were off to a brilliant start as they punctured the opposition's defence and scored five goals within 20 minutes of play before SHV Mishra of ONGC 'B' opened their account in the 24th minute. IndianOil added two more goals from the sticks of Baljit Singh (38th minute) and Hamza Mujtaba (53rd minute) to wrap up the match. IndianOil also won their second match as they got the better of GAIL 3-1. They got goals from Khushmeer Singh (fifth minute), Hamza Mujtaba (13th) followed by Sardara Singh (19th). The lone goal for GAIL came from the stick of Asif Syed. Results: IndianOil Sardara Singh (3 goals), Deepak Thakur, Bharat Chikara, Baljit Singh, Hamza Mujtaba (1 each) bt ONGC B (SVH Mishra, SZ Nadeem) 7-2. IndianOil (Khushmeer Singh, Hamza Mujtaba, Sardara Singh) bt GAIL (Asif Syed) 3-1.
