In a recent contest organised by the company, K.K. Jha, director (Pipelines) presented the Director (Pipelines) Rolling Trophy to Chaksu installation of Western Region Pipelines for overall best station in Pipelines Division for the year 2010-11. B.V. Janakiram, executive director (operations), J.P. Ojha, executive director (ERPL), Anish Agrawal, executive director (WRPL) and senior officials from pipeline units participated in the award presentation ceremony. Jha congratulated all the winners in the Best Station contest for their determination and hardwork. He said that the competitive spirit must be retained to improve the maintenance and to bring about best of the system.

WRPL, Chaksu also won the first prize in large pump station in the tanks category. Panipat-Jalandhar LPG Pipeline (PJPL) installation at Kohand won the first prize in best pump station category. Barauni-Kanpur Pipeline (BKPL), Kanpur station won the first prize in Delivery/ Terminal Station category.

The other pipeline installations qualified for the award in divisional level included Paradip-Haldia-Barauni Pipeline (PHBPL), Paradip, BKPL, Allahabad, SMPL, Sendra, Koyali Ahmedabad Pipeline (KAPL), Sabarmati, WRPL, Viramgam, Panipat-Bhatinda Pipeline (PBPL) Sangrur, Chennai Trichy-Madurai Pipeline (CTMPL), Manali and CTMPL, Sankari.

P.K. Bansal, GM (HSE) welcomed and briefed about the Best Station contest. The contest which has entered into the 25th year has more improvised checklist of audit and covers all areas of activities like offshore, operations, maintenance, inspection, security and right-of-way management and HSE.

Under the Best Station contest, individual regions first carry out the audit of all stations under their jurisdiction as per the checklist and select the best station under each category, that is, Best Delivery/Terminal station, Best Pumping Station and Best Tank farm station.

Thereafter, the central committee carries out audit of the selected stations and shortlists winners under each category and the winner of Director (Pipelines) Rolling Trophy.

IndianOil ensures maintenance of continuous and smooth supplies of petroleum products by way of crude oil refining, transportation and marketing activities and to provide appropriate assistance to consumers to conserve and use petroleum products efficiently. The company also aims to create a strong research and development base in refinery processes, product formulations, pipeline transportation and alternative fuels.
