2 held for oil theft from IndianOil pipeline

Officials of special operation group of Ahmedabad police on Thursday nabbed two persons involved in oil theft from the pipeline of IndianOil. A complaint in this regard was lodged by IndianOil officers on January 27. The arrested have been identified as Hardeep Sisodiya, a resident of Sanand and Nooru Vohra, resident of Sarkhej. They are part of a seven-member gang involved in the theft. The punctured pipeline is laid between Vadodara and Viramgam village in Ahmedabad. Investigation revealed that the accused used a JCB machine to create a hole in the pipe which was laid across 300 bigha of land in Khoda village near Sanand. They used clamps to extract 40,000 litres of diesel and petrol.

Police are still on the lookout for the remaining five, four of whom have been identified as Mukhtar Gogari, Karan Rajput, Raghuvir Vaghela and Mahaveer Vaghela. The name of the last accused is yet to be known. As per case records, Mukhtar Gogari alias Bhano is the son of notorious criminal Nooru Gogari.

Nooru was earlier the informer of suspended IPS officer Abhay Chudasma. Meanwhile, the cops have booked the seven under petroleum Act.
