IndianOil to finish integrating state LPG customers’ database by June
Ahmedabad   23-May-2013

The IndianOil has started the process of integrating its LPG customer database with those of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) in Gujarat. The company plans to finish the integration by June this year, thus helping all the three companies to keep a tab on households having multiple cooking cylinder connections.

This integration is being done by using indigenous software developed by the IndianOil called Ind-Soft (short for Indane software).

This software will not only help IndianOil merge all its dealers and supply points into a seamless network, but will also integrate the LPG customer databases of HPCL and BPCL as well. "Gujarat has over 60 lakh LPG customers. This integration of databases of the three companies will help monitor duplicate connections," said a senior IndianOil officer, requesting anonymity. "So a household getting subsidised cylinders from one company should not end up getting another lot of subsidised cylinders from a different company," the IndianOil officer said.

The IndianOil has already suspended over 80,000 duplicate connections across Gujarat during the last one year, he said.
