Pradhan inaugurates Mounded Bullet facilities at CPCL's Manali refinery

Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan, participated in the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of CPCL on July 23, 2016 at CPCL’s Manali Refinery. The Minister unveiled the Golden Jubilee Stupa marking the celebrations.

Speaking on the occasion, minister complimented Chennai Petroleum Corporaion Limited (CPCL) on its Golden Jubilee and commended the contribution made by CPCL to the State and to the Nation. He applauded the role of CPCL in transforming Manali area into a petrochemical hub and stressed the need for sustained growth in the future. In order to provide intrinsically safe storage CPCL has constructed Mounded Bullet storage facilities for LPG, Propane and Petrochemical Feedstocks (Propylene & Butylene) (Total 12 Mounded bullets.) at a cost of Rs 279 crore which was also inaugurated by Pradhan on this occasion. Minister of State Road Transport, Highways & Shipping Pon. Radhakrishnan, in his address, while complimenting CPCL, attributed its success to its Human Resources and called upon the workforce to maintain the momentum.

Tamil Nadu Minister of Industries M C Sampath, in his address assured the support of the State Government for the growth projects of CPCL. At the outset, CPCL and IndianOil Group companies Chairman B Ashok, welcomed the gathering. CPCL Managing Director Gautam Roy, proposed a vote of thanks. Thiruvallur Member of Parliament P Venugopal, North Chennai MP T G Venkatesh Babu and Thiruvottiyur constituency Member of Legislative Assembly K P P Samy, also addressed the gathering on the occasion.

Chennai Petroleum Corporaion Limited , formerly Madras Refineries Limited, formed on December 30, 1965, is a group company of IndianOil, and has refineries in Manali near Chennai and Panangudi near Nagapattinam, which cater to the energy needs of Tamil Nadu and parts of the neighbouring States.
