SIAM signs MoU with ministry, IndianOil on hydrogen fuel

The government will examine the feasibility of using a hydrogen-CNG blended fuel in light commercial vehicles (LCVs) as the country seeks to reduce dependence on crude oil imports. The ministry of new and renewable energy. Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) and IndianOil on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding to test and promote the feasibility of hydrogen-CNG blended fuel in LCVs. The project is based on recommendations of the National Hydrogen Energy Board (NHEB) chaired by minister of state for new & renewable energy Vilas Muttemwar. Ratan Tata, chairman of the Tata group, heads the Board’s steering committee. Tata Motors and four other automobile manufacturers are a part of the initiative.
