AOD ready for IndianOil's golden jubilee

<b>Celebrations to kick off in State from July 2</b> The Assam Oil Division of IndianOil is all set to celebrate the mega event of the golden year of its umbrella organisation with a mix of cultural, literary, games and sports, music, art, quiz elocution and community utility programme spread over a period of two months. Due to the period of State mourning the kick off comes at 9.30 am of July 2 in place of June 30, the day the event glitters in the rest part of India. The Central School Complex has been suitably renovated and renamed as the Golden Jubilee complex and all the indoor events including, the inaugural function are proposed to be held in this complex. Making its mark as an oil marketing organisation under the name of Indian Oil Company Ltd on June 30,1959 and renamed on September 1, 1964 as the IndianOil Corporation Ltd, the company began its refining process with the establishment of Guwahati Refinery in 1962 with an initial capacity of 0.75 million tons per annum. The IndianOil group of companies now own and operate 10 of India's 20 refineries with a combined capacity of over 60 MMTPA. The centralised inaugural function will be held on June 30 at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi with Devisingh Patil, President of India, as the chief guest two representatives of Assam Oil Division will participate in this function. The AOD version of celebrations starting on July 2 and ending on 1st September will include the holding of a grand music competition- Indian OU Idol among the’ employees and their dependents, an IndianOil quiz competition, photography competition, various games and sports competitions, mini marathon rase, poetry recital, cultural programme, programme "for the physically challenged, and a variety of CSR initiatives such as eye operation camp, health camp. In a press meet with the local scribes on June 26, Mr. P. C. Sonowal, DGM (HR) informed that more CSR funds would be made available this year for community welfare. The meet’ was also addressed by Mr. Haseem Ahmed and Ms. Runita Goswami, senior officers of the division. Mr. Subroto Ghosh, Executive Director of the Assam Oil Division, has conveyed his best wishes to the entire family of Assam Oil Division on the eve of the golden jubilee and requested them all to participate in all the events of the programme and make the celebrations a stepping stone in the long march of the division towards greater success.
