IndianOil lines up four pipeline projects

Having commissioned Paradip-Haldia crude oil pipeline recently, government-owned oil refiner IndianOil will commission four new pipelines from mid-December. The new pipelines will add about 600 km to the existing domestic pipeline network of 10,329 km of the company. IndianOil has invested more Rs 700 crore for these new pipelines. We will operate four new pipelines in different parts of the country by December," Mr. K. K. Jha, Director (Pipelines) told Financial Chronicle. In addition, IndianOil is looking to bag new consultant projects abroad. A Chennai to Bengaluru, 290 km pipeline, will start transporting all petroleum white products from IndianOil's group company, Chennai Petroleum Corporation (CPCL) to Bengaluru. This pipeline has come up at an investment of Rs 273 crore. IndianOil will start a regassified-LNG (R-LNG) pipeline from Dadri in Uttar Pradesh till Panipat. "We will connect to Gail's pipeline through the 133 km new pipeline," said Mr. Jha. The firm has invested Rs 350 crore for the pipeline. The third pipeline to be unveiled by December is laid, from Bijwasan in tie up with Palam area of Delhi to Panipat. The 118 km pipeline will supply gas to the company's naphtha cracker plant in Panipat. "We have spend Rs 79 core for this project," added Jha. These four new pipelines will add to the supply of crude oil and other petroleum products for the company. At present, IndianOil's domestic pipelines transport 73.8 million metric tonnes per annum of products, including crude oil, in a year. A fourth pipeline is going; to be operational between Mathura and Bharatpur.1 The pipeline will be 22 km and has cost Rs 23 crore to the company.
