Bhel to build IndianOil's captive power plant

Public sector power equipment manufacturer Bhel has won a Rs 3,348- crore turnkey contract from IndianOil for setting up a captive power plant at its upcoming Paradip refinery in Orissa. "This is the largest-value single order secured by Bhel for a captive power plant," the company said in a statement. The 376 mw gas turbine-based combined cycle power project is expected to be commissioned in November, 2012 and will meet the electricity and process steam requirement of the grassroot refinery. The scope of work contracted to Bhel in the project envisages design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of the captive power plant, in addition to associated civil works.
