LPG delivery at your convenience

 IndianOil (IOC) has launched preferred time for delivery of cooking gas cylinders in the twin cities.  According to N Srikumar, executive director IOC, over 11 lakh households being served through a network of 45 distributors would benefit from the new service.

The facility brings to customers the convenience of choosing the time as well as indicating a day of the week for delivery of cylinder at their homes. The new facility has been launched with a view to address the much-felt need of many households where both spouses are working and there might be no one to receive refills at home, according to a press release.

The special service would be available to customers at additional delivery charges ranging from Rs 25 to Rs 50, depending on timings of delivery. There are going to be three options for scheduling LPG refill deliveries. Under the preferred time option, a customer can choose only the time of delivery and it would be delivered during the desired time band on any day from Monday to Friday. If a customer misses the delivery on the scheduled day, it would be made during the same time band next day. The next option is a customer can indicate not only time of delivery but also the day for the refill to be delivered. The third option gives customers the choice of receiving cylinder refills anytime between 8 a.m and 6 p.m on weekends.

At present, the new facility would offer refills only on a specific day. The scheme does not entitle a customer registered for this service to get his/her delivery out of turn. If a customer prefers Sunday as preferred day of delivery and books the refill on Saturday, August 7, the delivery does not get scheduled for August 8, Sunday. It would be delivered only on maturity of his/her refill call matures on a first come-first serve basis.  The refill to customers who had booked earlier would be done first.

Customers can avail this facility by registering through a form available with distributors or by visiting www.indane.co.in. The customers have flexibility of changing the choice of day and time after six months. Customers also have the option of de-registering from the service.
