IOC exercise affected
Kolkata   14-Aug-2010

The IndianOil's advance winter stocking exercise of petroleum products aimed at maintaining steady supplies to the security forces deployed at high altitude areas of Jammu & Kashmir during the winter, has been severely affected in the devastating cloud burst that hit Leh on early 6 August, the oil company stated in an official release today. The disruption has left the security and defence establishments in J & K worried, as they need to keep vigil on the hostile Pakistan border all through the severe winter as well. But the IndianOil has rushed to the affected region a team from its Punjab state office, who, jointly with the local officials, are trying earnestly to restore the stocking exercise at the earliest possible, the IOC's corporate communication manager (eastern region), Mr Aloke Kumar Singh informed. Besides this, IOC officials have also joined hands with the civil and defence authorities for relief and rescue operations in the affected areas of Leh and its surroundings.
