IndianOil Day observed in Digboi

IndianOil Day is observed every year on September 1, across all IndianOil units in the country. This was the day in 1964 when two companies, i.e. Indian Refineries Limited and IndianOil were merged to form IndianOil, which is today one of the leading energy companies not only in the country, but across the globe.

At Digboi, IndianOil Day was observed with day-long programmes. In the morning an employees’ meet was convened where the IndianOil Pledge was administered to all the employees in three languages by Mr. Subrato Ghosh, ED, Mr. Sanjoy P Bordoloi, GM (I/c) and Mr. HN Sah, GM (projects). Messages from Mr. B M Bansal, Chairman, IndianOil and Mr. B N Bankapur, Director (Refineries) were also read out to the gathered employees.

Retired employees who had attained the age of 75 years were felicitated with a shawl and a silver salver each. On the occasion, serving employees who had completed 15 years of service were rewarded for their long service with gold coins. Suggestion Scheme Awards were also presented to the best suggestors under the Suggestion Scheme of the Corporation.

An inter-school invitational football tournament and a blood donation camp as well a free health check up camp were also held as part of the IndianOil Day celebrations at Digboi. Meritorious students of nearby schools were felicitated, under the corporation’s CSR programme.
