IndianOil in parleys with foreign companies
New Delhi   09-Jan-2008
The IndianOil on Tuesday said it is in talks with four-five overseas players to bid for some deep-water blocks that are on offer under the seventh auction round of New Exploration licensing Policy. "We are in talks with 4-5 overseas players for partnership. We have written to them, let's see," IndianOil Chairman S. Behuria said here. Stating that the state-run refiner was also interested to bid for deep-water blocks, he said for some small blocks, the company would go solo. "In some small blocks, we will go solo. But in some major blocks, we need partnership from major players. We can't go solo in such cases," Behuria said. Asked to name the domestic players with which IndianOil intends to tie-up, Behuria said, "It can be anybody. The final decision will take some time to come up. We will have to get the data and analyse them."
