40,000 litre lubricants gutted in Mumbai fire
New Delhi   19-Jan-2011

A major fire broke out around 1.30 am on Tuesday at the IndianOil’s plant at Taloja in Navi Mumbai. It destroyed more than 40,000 litres of lubricants before it was put out. There were no casualties.

Timely action by IOC staff and fire brigade officials helped restrict the blaze to a 3,000 sqm shed in the 1 lakh sq m plant area. Preliminary indications are that the blaze was caused by a short circuit.
