IndianOil gets new chairman

RS Butola has taken over as chairman of IndianOil. Before joining IndianOil, Butola was the MD of ONGC Videsh Ltd (OVL). Under his stewardship, OVL built a formidable E&P portfolio comprising both discovered and producing assets in over 15 countries.

In a career spanning about three decades out of which two decades was in the hydrocarbon industry, Butola has shouldered various responsibilities prominent among which are the appraisal and evaluation of the Mumbai High Redevelopment Scheme as well as the implementation of ONGC’s first ERP. As the first chief (commercial) of ONGC, Butola was instrumental in negotiating and executing the first Crude Oil Sales Agreement with the refineries upon dismantling of the erstwhile administered pricing regime.

He is an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB).
