LPG imports may rise 11% next year: IndianOil
New Delhi   01-Feb-2008
India, Asia's third largest oil consumer, may increase the import of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by 11% next year, the nation's biggest refiner said. India may import 3 million tones (mt) of the fuel, mostly used for cooking, in the year beginning April 1, compared with 2.7mt in the year ending 31 March, said Sarthak Behuria, Chairman of IndianOil. Cooking gas imports may rise because of higher local demand and inadequate supplies from Indian refiners, Behuria told reporters in New Delhi on Thursday.
