Guwahati Refinery extends aid to unemployed youths

Twenty two youths of Kuruwa in Darrang district were recently awarded certificates of proficiency in mobile repairing at a meeting presided over by SR Payeng, Deputy Director, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development Institute, Guwahati, in presence of MSME authorities, Guwahati Refinery personnel, members of NGO Clean Care Society and general public.

In association with Guwahati Refinery, the MSME institute conducted a six weeks training programme during February-March for these unemployed youth with the objective of developing their skills and making them independent. Guwahati Refinery offered the premises for conducting the programme Prabin Sinha conducted the training with assistance from the Clean Care Society, which helped in generating awareness amongst the young participants and guided them for their involvement and participation.

The trainees were also handed over mobile repairing kits by Guwahati Refinery. Speaking on the occasion, Payeng thanked the Refinery for its support and mentioned that of all the 176 training programmes conducted in Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh during the year, this training programme has been the most successful.

S Chakraborty, Chandrima Sarma, Manik Das and J Kalita were present in the meeting on behalf of Guwahati Refinery. This was stated in a press release.
