New Delhi   05-May-2011

In a notable first for an Indian Refinery, IndianOil’s Mathura Refinery has achieved the international benchmark of ISO 14064 - Greenhouse Gases Verification Statement. The certification deals with the quantification and reporting of direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions and removals at the organisational level.

The verification was carried out by the world’s leading certification body Bureau Veritas Certification, while the Greenhouse Gas emission inventory report was completed through the global consultancy firm Pricewaterhouse Coopers.

Director (Refineries), IndianOil BN Bankapur commended Mathura Refinery for the pioneering feat in environmental protection. He also shared that all refineries of IndianOil are in an advanced stage of acquiring the ISO-14,064 benchmark by bringing in transparency on carbon disclosure.

“As an environmentally conscientious corporate, IndianOil refineries have been proactively engaged in adopting energy efficient technologies which reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the atmosphere,” Bankapur added.
