Tragedy averted, cylinder fire contained

A possible tragedy was averted with the timely intervention of police and truck crew members of IndianOil in Satwari area on May 14, 2011.

Reports said an LPG cylinder at a shop on Satwari-Gadigarh road suddenly caught fire at around 9.30 am. A panic was created and the people started moving away. The police party led by SHO Satwari Mr Sameer also reached there. They asked the people to stay away as it could lead to explosion.

Suddenly, Indane LPG Cylinders truck was passing that way. The crew members led by Pardeep Singh got down and using chemicals and extinguishers, controlled the fire before reaching the Fire Services men. The locals and police lauded their role as possible tragedy was averted with this timely action.
