IndianOil begins reticulated system of LPG distribution in Assam

With the real estate sea or of Assam particularly in Guwahati witnessing a boom, the IndianOil (Assam oil division) has started reticulated system of LPG distribution in Assam. The Assam government is also planning to initiate suitable amendments in building bylaws for making a popular reticulated; system. According to an estimate, in another two years, more than -3,000 flats will be added in Guwahati. Guwahati development department and finance, secretary, AK Bhutan told ET, "there is a proposal from IndianOil for insertion of the provision relating to reticulated system of LPG distribution in the building bylaws of Guwahati, we are ready to look into it." In this system, LPG is sourced from a centralized cylinder bank or bulk LPG storage facility housed in the premises. Already, on Thursday, the system has started functioning in one of the apartments in Guwahati. The apartment has a total of 25 flats. IndianOil (Assam oil division), chief LPG manager (Sales), AK Kalita, said: "We are confident that this product will have a good number of takers. The real estate sea or of Guwahati' is really growing and already four apartments have included this system in their sales brochures as value-added service." IndianOil, DGM, RN Ghosh, said: "Under this system, there will be continuous supply of LPG without taking the hassle of ordering the refill and waiting for delivery. There will be increased safety in kitchens as LPG is supplied at a very low pressure. The piped connection has an inbuilt safety system that ensures LPG supply is shut off in case of leakage. Payment is done only at the end of billing cycle for used quantity only." IndianOil has commissioned the reticulated system at Pune (at 1,000 apartments), Kolkata (at 520 apartments), Chennai, Coimbatore, Kochi and Hyderabad. Many other projects are being implemented at Noida, Gurgaon, Bhopal and Bengaluru.
