IndianOil Femina Car Rally on April 6

Lions Club Patna Femina will organise its fourth 'IndianOil Femina Car Rally,' from Patna to Bodh Gaya, on April 6. Addressing a Press conference here on Saturday, club president Madhu Chhanda Ganguli said around 40 teams were expected to participate in the rally. "The participation of women is a must in the rally. There will be two categories of participants. In women's category, both driver and navigator will be women while in couple category, one of the two persons in the team will be a male," said Ganguli. The participation forms would be available at various places in the city, including 403, Puspanjali Complex (Patliputra Boring Road, opposite S K Puri), all IndianOil Petrol Pumps and J K Tyre show room (Steel Wheels), Fraser Road. The last date of submission of the form is April 5. The participation fee is Rs 1,200, which includes fixed free fuel, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Rally coordinator Nanda Garg said the rally format would be based on TDS (Time Distance Speed) with minimum average speed of 45 km per hour. The vehicle registration would be done on April 5 in front of Twin Tower, Gandhi Maidan and in the evening the rally rules would be announced before the participants at Hotel Maurya. "The rally will be flagged off from IndianOil petrol pump on Boring Road at 7 am and will terminate at the Mahabodhi Temple, Bodh Gaya” she said. Club member Usha Jha said the prize distribution ceremony would be held on April 7. "The first prize among women category will be of worth Rs 35,000 while the value of the first prize for couple category will be Rs 25,000," she said, adding that besides the First, second and the third prizes, there would be many special prizes. "The fund, raised through the rally, will be given to an old age home and some of the amount will also be used to empower needy women," said another member of the club, Manju Singh.
