Dedicated IndianOil women marathoners make an impact

Nearly 45 women from across Mumbai locations of IndianOil, Western Region came forth to pledge their support in generating awareness about cervical cancer, girl child education and women's safety in public places –the three primary causes highlighted through the DNA half-marathon held on March 11, 2012 at Bandra Kurla Complex.Saraswathi Joshi, Assistant Manager (Finance), IndianOil, Western Region ran the 21km half-marathon to advocate the cause of girl child education and crossed the finish line in 2 hours and 40 minutes. She expressed The DNA lCan Women's Half Marathon gave me an opportunity to participate in a sporting event with the primary aim of contributing to society. No goal seems unachievable as long as there is a strong reason behind the effort. The half marathon was a challenge I took on to show that’I Can’ 'and I Did!"
