Oil firm says work on pipeline won’t affect forests
New Delhi   07-Jun-2012

The much-delayed oil pipeline from Paradip to Ranchi via Raipur may see light of day soon. After serious objections by Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (wildlife) over passage of the pipeline through densely forested areas, IndianOil is ready to clarify its views during the State Advisory Group meeting later this month.

The company is expected to put forth the view that no damage to the forest cover would be caused or wildlife would be disturbed due to the project. The oil major, in the process of attaining forest clearance, had been told to come up with some alternative routes.
