IndianOil Bongaigaon Refinery reaches out to village schools

With a vision to reach out to the needy students of nearby villages in promoting education, IndianOil Bongaigaon Refinery distributed solar lanterns to the poor and needy students of neighbouring village schools. Under CSR initiative, 160 solar lanterns were distributed during May-June, 2012 to poor students who have no facility of electricity in their houses. The solar lanterns were distributed to the students of 11 schools in both Chirang and Bongaigaon districts namely Chaprakata Poporagaon High School, Bidyapur HS School, Barpathar High School, Chiponshila High School, Srimanta Shankardev High School and Chakarapara High School, Kajalgaon High School, Raja Ajitnarayanan Dev High School, Daimalu High School, Bilashpur Manchuria High Madrassa School and Ballamguri Junior College.

Earlier, 40 solar lanterns were distributed in March, 2012 to the poor students in Bhiranggaon High School and Khagrabari High School, Rowmari by Chairman and Director (Refineries) of IndianOil and Executive Director of Bongaigaon Refinery. This was stated in a press release.
