Bongaigaon Refinery awarded ‘National Safety Award'

In recognition of its excellent safety track record in industrial safety, Bongaigaon Refinery of IndianOil received the prestigious ‘National Safety Award’ instituted by the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India. Bongaigaon Refinery was adjudged as the ‘Winner’ for achieving ‘Lost Time Accident Free Year - 2010’ amongst industries working more than one million man-hours.

The ‘National Safety Award’ was presented by Mallikarjun Kharge, Union Minister of Labour & Employment, Government of India at a glittering function held in Vigyan Bhavan on September 17, 2012 in presence of Secretary & Additional Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India.

It would be pertinent to mention that Bongaigaon Refinery of IndianOil has achieved 42.5 million man-hours or 3,858 days which is equivalent to more than 10.5 years without a lost time accident till date. This was stated in a press release.
