IndianOil plans refinery on West Coast
New Delhi   28-Nov-2012

State-owned IndianOil on Tuesday plans to set up a Rs. 30,000-crore refinery on the West coast in Gujarat or Maharashtra, as a part of its ambitious expansion plans. IndianOil has seven refineries totalling 54.2 MT and an 11.5 MT subsidiary in Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (CPCL).

It so far has no coastal refinery, impairing its ability to process cheaper crude oils.

We are looking at options to set up a 15 MT refinery on the West Coast,” IndianOil Director (Refineries) Raj Kumar Ghosh told correspondents here. The company is currently scouting for an ideal location along the West Coast and the choice is between Gujarat and Maharashtra.
