Awareness programme on fuel saving launched

The annual Oil & Gas Conservation Fortnight was inaugurated in Kolkata on Tuesday.

While the State Consumer Affairs Minister Sadhan Pande formally launched the awareness programme, it was attended by senior officials of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, Bharat Petroleum, GAIL and PCRA, an IOC release said.

Addressing the occasion, Pande said: “… the need for conservation of petroleum products in West Bengal is very much essential. This can be achieved by way of implementation of improved technology and improving awareness of common people.”

As part of the programme, a tableau will move across the State during the fortnight to spread awareness on conservation of petroleum products.
