IndianOil Western Region pipeline, celebrates 30th anniversary at Vadinar

It is a matter of great pride that I by carrying crude oil to our refineries and facilitating the availability of petroleum products in the high-demand centres of Northwestern India, WRPL has been the prime contributor to IndianOil's status as the market leader in our country," said Sarthak Behuria, Chairman, IndianOil, while commending the efforts of the IndianOil team at Western region Pipelines at the 30th anniversary celebrations held at the Vadinar terminal of IndianOil on 5th September, 2008. The Chairman unveiled a plaque to commemorate the event and P K Chakraborti, Director (Pipelines) in the presence of K G Gupta, ED (WRPL), released an informative brochure detailing the activities of SMPL and WRPL. A special invitee on the occasion was R P Medhekar, a former IOCian who was the first location in-charge of the SVK section of the pipeline and superannuated as Executive Director, Pipelines a few years ago. While addressing the gathering, he recounted the hard work and challenges faced by the IndianOil team 30 years ago in implementing the project in the obscure hamlet of Vadinar.
