IiPM commences three-day Career Transition Programme

A three-day programme on Career Transition from March 11to 13, 2015 commenced at IiPM for senior executives in Grade ‘H’ & ‘I’ officers who will be superannuating from the services of the Corporation by November 2015. Mr. V. S. Okhde, former Director (Pipelines) inaugurated the programme.  Mr. S. Mukherjee, ED-IiPM welcomed the participants and their family at the event. During the inaugural session, Mr. R. K. Chugh, CM-IiPM gave the overview and objective of programme. Mr. Okhde shared the difference between an active life and a superannuated life in his keynote address.

In his brief speech, he held forth on the meaning of the word transition. He said that an individual faces transition in his life many times, be it personal life or a professional life.  Citing examples from stories, he shared his thoughts on a successful superannuated life.  He advised participants that “Be involved in your job but not get attached; enjoy power but do not get carried away; enjoy facilities but don’t get dependent; be a master of your mind but not the slave of your habits.
