Butene-1 project at Indian Oil Corporation’s Panipat Refinery recently won the prestigious PMI ‘Project of the Year Award’ 2015

It’s a great feat for Indian Oil Corporation Limited that Butene-1 Project at its Panipat Refinery has won the prestigious PMI ‘Project of the Year Award’ 2015 in the medium project category. The award was received by Narinder Kumar, executive director (I/c), projects, refineries headquarters, along with AK Verma, DGM (projects), and PR Parate (CPJM), during the Project Management National Conference, held at Bengaluru recently. PMI awards for excellence in project management are among the most prestigious awards in this field, conferred by Project Management Institute, the world’s leading professional membership association for the project, programme and portfolio management profession.

Butene-1 plant at Panipat Naptha Cracker Complex, Haryana, is a state-of-the-art unit and a ground-breaking project that marks IndianOil’s first ever venture into the production of Buene-1, an export substitute that is used for production of several grades of LLDPE and HDPE Polymers.

Congratulating the team, director (refineries), IndianOil, Sanjiv Singh informed that this is the second consecutive year for IndianOil to be honoured with this coveted award. Last year the award was conferred to Butadiene Extraction Unit Project of PNCP.
