Top stars for Petroleum meet

Many National and international stars will be on view when IndianOil conducts the Petroleum Sports Control Board's (PSCB) annual inter-unit table tennis tournament at the JJ Stadium here from September 26 to 30. Eleven units are participating in team championship on September 26 and 27, according to R.S. Lele, Sports Co-ordinator, IndianOil . IndianOil men and BPCL women are the defending champions. The individual events will be held from September 28 to 30. A. Sharath Kamal and Paulo-mi Ghatak are the defending champions in the men's and women's section respectively. The technical support will be provided by the Tamil Nadu State Table Tennis Association and Trivandrum's Ganesh has been nominated as the tournament director. While giving details of the competitions, Lele pointed out the role of IndianOil in supporting outstanding sportsmen and was happy to note that eight of the 18 players in the Indian team that won the recent Asia Cup hockey were from IndianOil. The participants: ONGC, Bharat Petroleum, IndianOil , Hindustan Petroleum, MRPL, CPCL, Oil India, Numafiragh Refineries, GAIL, Engineers India, Mangalore Refineries.
