Hindi Divas observed at Guwahati Refinery

To enhance the usage of Hindi as official language as part of Rajbhasa implementation, Hindi Divas was observed at Guwahati Refinery with a week long programme from September 14 to 21 at 'the Training Center of the Refinery premise. Inaugurating the function, Bhanu Tnufthy, Executive 'Director Guwahati Refinery, addressed the gathering of employees, CISF members, Chetna Club members and Mahila Samitics and KV, IOC students. Elaborating on the significance of the day, Bhanumurthy said that we should remember this day not only as the day on which Constitution adopted Hindi as Rajbhasa out also the day of evaluation on Hindi implementation after 58 years of adoption in the Constitution. He congratulated all for having won the first prize three times continuously by TOLIC (PSUs) and the continuous First "prized Guwahati Refinery. Dr Khiroda Saikia, Secretary, Assam Rastrabhasha Frasar Samiti, Guwahati was the chief guest on the occasion. He said Hindi occupies the third position amongst languages spoken in the world and its sweetness is just like a love of mother. Ashok Kr Mishra, Asstt. Director, Regional Rajbhasha Implementation Office said that Hindi is not only going to be a world language, but will also offer-diversified opportunities to many people. A quiz competition amongst all present was also organized on the occasion. On the Concluding-day of the Hindi Saptah, computers were presented to Assam Rastrabhasha Prasar Samiti, an established volutary organization in Hindi and books to NGOs and colleges. Prizes were given away to winners of various competitions during the Hindi Week.
