World Environment Day observed at IndianOil

Three energy conservation projects have been registered under Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) in the IndianOil refineries by UNFCCC with a total CER of 28500 MT/Year. Three more CDM projects are in the process of validation. This was informed by Mr. B. N. Bankapur, Director (Refineries,) IndianOil, while flagging off the World Environment Day celebrations across IndianOil locations. To mark the occasion, a special poster based on the World Environment Day theme 'Your planet needs you' was also unveiled by Mr. Bankapur. Meanwhile, IndianOil-R&D celebrated the World Environment Day at Faridabad under a banyan tree in the green courtyard of the R&D campus. Dr. R.K. Malhotra, ED of R&D centre gave away eco friendly green bags and designer green T-Shirts to the house keeping staff and the staff of the horticulture department of the R&D Division. The other senior functionaries present during the occasion were Mr. S. Rajagopal GM (RT& Engineering) and senior ' officers of the HR department, who also undertook a special pledge saying a big NO to polyethylene bags -which are one of the main pollutants of the environment.
