BRPL gets best refinery award in steam-leak category while IndianOil's Panipat Refinery wins the 3rd prize

Bongaigaon Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd. (BRPL) was declared the best refinery in the area of steam leaks during 2006-07 based on the survey carried out by the Centre for High Technology {CHT) at the initiative of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. BRPL won the first prize in the area of steam leaks after a survey of 17 refineries was done by CHT. The second prize was won by RIL, Jamnagar while IndianOil's Panipat refinery was awarded the third prize. Murli Deora, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, presented the prestigious award to AK Sarmah, Managing Director, BRPL, in a glittering function held on September 20 at Tiruvanantapuram during the Refinery Technology meet attended by dignitaries from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, CHT, oil companies and international consultants. As a result of unrelenting initiatives and endeavour to improve and be the best, BRPL has been consistently winning various energy conservation awards instituted by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. Enhanced savings are expected to accrue to the company in the coming years through various energy conservation schemes which have been implemented or are under implementation.
