Guwahati   16-Sep-2009
IndianOil’s Bongaigaon Refinery (BGR) has always showed sympathy towards the inmates of Santipara Leprosy Home and Hospital. When special occasions are celebrated, Bongaigaon Refinery always remembers to share its joy with the suffering people. Amid the events of its golden jubilee celebrations, a team of the refinery led by Mr. B. K. Das, General Manager (Human Resources) paid a visit to the leprosy centre. The team distributed food items including rice, milk powder, mustard oil, tea, sugar and others among the patients. Mr. Das along with Mr. S. R. Narzary, SM (A&W) and a few HR Department staff took stock of the situation of the inmates and discussed remedial measures to improve their deplorable condition. Nevertheless, a new scheme has been introduced tinder which patients will be provided with identity cards and thereby necessary healthcare will be taken at the Bongaigaon Refinery run rural hospital at Kukurmari. It is to be mentioned here that Santipara Leprosy Home and Bongaigaon Refinery, is an old centre for the lepers. Seasonal requirements like mosquito nets, warm clothes and other items are being distributed among these patients by the refinery for last many years.
